The back office for GCC marketplace sellers

GCC brands now sell first on Amazon.ae and Noon, and run their finances in Excel. Mizan turns settlement reports into profit per product, live stock and VAT-ready books. It started as a build for a live seller who brought us this exact problem. Now we're turning it into SaaS.

The problem

A marketplace pays a seller one net number every one or two weeks. Inside it are referral fees, fulfilment, delivery, storage, ads, refunds and VAT, in a different report format for each channel.

To find out which products make money, sellers rebuild that payout by hand. Our design partner kept a year of orders, payouts and bank lines in one workbook and still couldn't see margin per channel.

Accounting tools don't read GCC settlement files. Seller analytics tools don't produce books. The seller, or their accountant, fills the gap with spreadsheets.

Why now

Marketplaces are the default first channel. New GCC consumer brands launch on Amazon.ae and Noon before they build their own store, so most of their revenue arrives as a settlement report.

Books have to be clean. UAE corporate tax applies from financial years starting June 2023, and e-invoicing is being rolled out. Small sellers can't keep running on a spreadsheet.

Global tools are thin on the GCC. Noon, Trendyol GCC, Arabic and UAE VAT are not where Western seller tools focus.

Business model

Monthly subscription per seller company in three plans: Starter, Growth and Agency. Pricing is TBD and will be set with the founding sellers. On top: one-time onboarding for importing historical books, and seats for accountant partners who manage many sellers.

How we reach sellers

  1. Founding sellers: the design partner plus 5 to 10 sellers from our network, onboarded by hand.
  2. Accountants: bookkeeping firms with e-commerce clients get a partner dashboard and revenue share. One firm can bring dozens of sellers.
  3. Marketplace agencies: agencies that run Amazon and Noon accounts bundle Mizan into their retainer.
  4. A free profit checker: upload one settlement, see the real margin. The homepage calculator is its first version.

Later revenue

Verified settlement history makes payout advances and working-capital offers possible through finance partners. We would refer, not lend.

Revenue model: change the assumptions

An illustration, not a forecast. Revenue per seller is a modelling assumption, not a price. USD at the 3.6725 peg.

Competition

Others do one or two of these jobs: settlements, stock, books. None does all three for GCC marketplaces.
